www.1aauto.com 1A Auto shows you how to repair, install, fix, change or replace a damaged, stripped or broken windshield wiper transmission. This procedure is the same for Honda Accord 1994-1997 and Acura CL 1997-1999.
Remember to club up when you choke up!
aim right.- meaning lining up just like a draw shot?
thanks. simple and easy to grasp.
All this guys videos are amazing.
I really like watching this guy, his instructions are basic no bull and easy to understand, brilliant.
Good Pro
I like this video. Very informative. I also found the video kind of funny. Not sure if they made it funny on purpose. Overall good video. Thanks.
Possibly change the nozzel on it to a new one and see if it helps.
Thanks for the Video.
This really helped.
My windshield spray, passenger side shoots really far(it goes and shoots the car behind my car) and driver side spray sprays very very fat thick with no pressure.
Do you know how to adjust the angle of the spray ???
Thank you. But I found out what happened. The arm came of the linkage, (if that makes any sense) thier is a cap that holds the arm on, and the cap came off, therfore the arm came off as well. Just not sure where to find one now. Thanks you for your help.
You may want to check the wiper arms to see if they are stripped. If all of the linkage moves and the posts that the wiper arms attach to move, but the arms do not the inside of the wiper arms may have striped. You would need to replace the wiper arms if this has happened. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
nice video, thank you much for this. But can you maybe do a video on why the wipers dont work but the motor does, and the fuse is good, please. You mention a bit about this around the 7:20 mark.Thank you. 🙂
You should be able to take the whole wiper arm off of the stud that it attaches to on the cowl, and position it a little bit higher on the windshield so that it doesn’t hit the windshield frame.
Hi,
When I move the driver side arm, both arm move up by 5-10 cm. That cause the driver’s wiper arm is going off the winshield frame when the wipers are working.
What is the problem ? Do I have to change the whole linkage as shown in this video ?
Thanks
You may want to check with the dealer to see if it’s a serviceable part.
I have the same problem with white caps on my Honda accord 2001. Hhe one, which is clother to the motor fell off a little bit (but it still holding there), that’s why my one rod moves little, and it as a result one blade always hits the edge of the window, can you tell how did you fix this? have you found a new caps or you bought a rods already with caps??
thank you.
U just saved me 120 bucks….thanks! and repaired it in less than an hr
THX ALOT MY FRIEND YOU SAVED ME SOME MONEY !!!
We sell the transmission linkage as shown in the video with the caps installed. The part number on our 1aauto.com website is 1AWWT00015 or you can call Tony @ 866-403-3393
The dealer said I can purchase the two rods (come with the white caps installed) .
Can you take these rods off and put them back on without any issue, with just the screw driver (like when you pried one end of it off to install the motor). If this is true then I can just replace the rods.
Do the wiper transmission components the same for most cars ? Is there a specific terminology for these rods ? Thanks.
You may want to see if the dealer could get you a new one. If not the new wiper transmission comes with them installed.
I have an Integra 94 and one of the linkage’s arm fell off because the white cap (on the left) the keeps the joint together fell off. When I put it back on, it is very loose and fell off again.
It seems like it was assembled by a press machine.
In the video you snaped the white cap back it place and it didnot fell off (the white cap on the right close to the motor). Are they the same kind of cap ? Do I need to get a new linkage or can it be fixed by getting new caps ? Thanks.
Glad you got it fixed. Have a great day.
Turns out they were spliced together under the dash to bypass a broken switch… Not the right way to fix a problem…..
If they’re both on the same switch, you may want to test the switch to see if it’s working correctly.
I have a problem where my front wipers have been wired together with the rear wiper. Turning on my rear wiper does the front/rear wipers. turning on the front wiper does nothing. Where do I begin to troubleshoot this?!
Try to take both wiper arms off turn the wipers (with them off) turn the wipers on and then off. They place the wiper arms back onto their studs. This should solve the issue for you. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day.
They may be in the wrong position of that stud. You could try to reposition the wiper arms to see if it resolves the problem.
i have a 2004 Honda Accord.. when the wipers come back down or back to the park position they slam… what could be the problem?
You may be able to shim it with a washer, or check to see if something is blocking them from seating properly.
You could try the motor without the linkage attached to see if it turns. If it does then you may just need the linkage. Hope this helps you out.
Thank you very much. If you have any questions at all or need any help. We’re here to help you. Have a great day!
